Kira Jade Cooper
Kira is a PhD Candidate in Social and Ecological Sustainability at the University of Waterloo.
I am a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Waterloo exploring the nexus of inner and outer sustainability. Currently, I am developing an open-sourced program to assess the readiness of organisations to leverage inner transformations for systemic change. Additionally, I am curating a suite of accessible pedagogical tools and experiments to help cultivate affective, cognitive, and relational skills to shift beyond unconscious normalcy and embrace uncertainty, chaos, and paradox as precursors for transformative change.
Why did you join ESAC?
I first joined ESAC in 2010 while attending Congress at the University of New Brunswick. The conference was a great success and I felt incredibly welcome in the collegial environment. Since then, I have had the great fortune of sitting in many seats in this organization including conference coordinator, secretary, vice president, and now co-president. It is a great pleasure to collaborate with this brilliant community and I look forward to seeing ESAC transform in the years to come.
