ESAC 2016 Conference Update
The conference is just over a month away! With that in mind, here are the latest versions of the Short Schedule and Detailed Program (PDF). While we do intend to provide black & white copies of the schedule to participants, please note that we will NOT be providing printed versions of the Extended Program.
A reminder for presenters
All paper presentations should be kept to 15 minutes in order to maximize time for discussion with colleagues. The ‘typical’ Powerpoint capabilities will be available; if you have a digital presentation please make sure to bring your slides on a USB key and load it onto the computer before the session begins. Try to arrive at your session 15 minutes early and meet the session chair and fellow panelists. NOTE: If you have a Mac and wish to use your own laptop please makes sure you have the appropriate Mac-VGA adapter on hand.
Sustainability at Congress
The following is a note from the Congress organizers and University of Calgary (as the Environmental Studies Association of Canada, let’s make sure to lead by example here):
During Congress 2016, we invite attendees to join us in modelling sustainability by taking advantage of our programs and integrating sustainability into everyday actions, such as:
- Conserving energy. Take the stairs and turn off lights, computers and equipment when not in use.
- Carrying a reusable water bottle and/or coffee mug. Over 40 of our 300 water fountains have been retrofitted to include bottle filling devices and many campus vendors offer beverage discounts when you BYOM.
- Sorting your waste. Collection bins for compost, refundable beverage containers, and paper and cardboard are conveniently stationed at events and throughout campus.
- Commuting sustainably. Our campus is easily accessible by public transit or you can take advantage of our carpool, car share and cycling programs.
The Congress 2016 map is available! Check it out now and familiarize yourself with the UCalgary campus and amenities. Newer versions will be uploaded as more information gets added and a final version will be available in your Congress Guide on site at Congress.
