Pembina Institute- Oil Sands Director
The Pembina Institute is seeking a strong leader with oilsands-related expertise to join the Pembina Institute’s Calgary or Edmonton office. This senior staff person is responsible for coordinating the team assigned to deliver our consulting, research and advocacy work related to oilsands issues.
The Pembina Institute’s oilsands team works to advance responsible oilsands development, which we define as: capping the impacts of oilsands development within the limits of what science shows the ecosystem and climate can support; shrinking the environmental footprint of oilsands development for every barrel produced; and ensuring a meaningful portion of the benefits of oilsands development are used to support Canada’s transition to a clean energy future.
The successful candidate will be joining a dynamic group of nationally recognized professionals who apply their technical acumen, industry knowledge, values and creativity to Canada’s most prominent and pressing sustainability challenges. The full-time (40 hours/week) position will require travel, public speaking, media engagement and occasional work on evenings and weekends.
